Suffolk Skills & Employment Service
Thrive
Empowering young people for a brighter future.
At the Lofty Heights Skills Academy, we are proud to partner with Suffolk New College on the Thrive Project – a groundbreaking initiative that provides support and vocational courses for young people across Suffolk.
As part of this collaboration, we aim to guide young people on a seamless journey towards employment, apprenticeships, and education. By offering vocational training, qualifications, and real-life hands-on experiences, we equip them with the skills and confidence they need to take their
next steps successfully.
About Thrive
Thrive is an innovative programme aimed at empowering over 1,000 individuals across Suffolk,
including NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young people aged 16-24 and
economically inactive adults. Funded by district councils through the UK Shared Prosperity
Fund, this project is led by Suffolk New College in partnership with education providers,
charities, and businesses, including Lofty Heights.

This collaborative effort provides:
• Personalised support: Participants are guided by progression coaches who assess their
unique needs.
• Vocational training: A focus on developing practical skills and certifications to unlock
employment and educational opportunities.
• Community empowerment: By addressing the complex challenges faced by individuals,
Thrive creates positive pathways to meaningful careers and brighter futures.
How Lofty Heights contributes
At Lofty Heights, we specialise in offering vocational experiences that inspire growth and
opportunity. As part of Thrive, we work closely with young people to develop their skills, build
their confidence, and open doors to education, employment, or training pathways.
Through our tailored approach, we aim to:
• Provide hands-on vocational experiences.
• Support individuals in gaining industry-recognised certifications.
• Help young people take their first steps into employment or further education.
